Actually, the VF-1S Super Battroid kit is quite excellent. Very finely detailed 
and the hands are excellent. A far cry above anything Bandai would produce.

From what I've heard, the VF-0S kit is way up there as well. The only gripe I 
have about anything Hasegawa is their giant ejector pin marks that get into 
everything, including fine details.

Hasegawa really hasn't demonstrated they can do decent
mecha.  I still think Bandai is undisputed king of mecha kits.
Hasegawa has only one or two Battroid kits that, I understand, were
uninspiring.
