Are there many Gundam games for Nintendo systems in general? Given how
Gundam - "Misfire" went down with the PS3 it would be good to see something
that at least stresses playability over graphics. The SD/ G-Gen games would

well enough to make the trip to North America for someone to make money off
of.
Good question! Do what I do: Google "wii gundam", and we hit

Hmm reading the write-up, I am a little skeptical. There are tons of
games that feel obliged to adapt to Wii's gimmick and end up screwing
things up. This smells like the deadly combo of crappy Gundam games
and crappy Wii games.
I am looking forward to a Wii game from those guys who made R.A.D. I
have faith they can and will make a good Wii mecha game.
As for porting Gundam games to R1, I would venture another hypothesis
on why/how Japanese games get ported:
Typical franchise games "SURE WIN": a lot of franchises are in the
"sure win" category, either as self-contained game franchise like
Final Fantasy, or as tie-in from anime franchise like Dragon Ball.
These games are profitable in NA, so they get ported no matter how
good or how bad the games are.
Top-down marketing priority: some games are neither sure-win nor
consumer-driven (see below), so why do they get ported? Well I could
call this the "WTF" category, but let's use euphemism "marketing
priority". These include porting Gundam Crossfire because they needed
games, ANY games for PS3 launch. (similarly, MS needs a Gundam game
for Xbox 360 in Japan)
Bottom-up market-driven: well really I mean imports, (illegal) p2p
downloads and forum-buzz. Also known as "Fansub 2.0", well you know
the story... This is how Gundam (the anime) got started, with Mark
Simmons etc.
For Gundam, when it was still a franchise, we got a bunch of "sure
win" category ports. But now it's lost that status in the US. So we
only have "top-down" or "bottom-up". For top-down we already got
Gundam Crossfire, and perhaps we will get Gundam Musou too? For
bottom-up, I think Scad Hammer is a great candidate, which is why I am
taking a bit of import/forum buzz effort. But it's actually been out
in Japan for so long now, so perhaps the opportunity has already
passed...
