I've been really entertained as to how we've managed to go from Gundam to Iraq and the real world of weapons prototyping, but it really feels like we've not only beaten the horse dead, we've started killing the whole ranch. And we're waiting for the foals to be born, and beat on them too. --------------------------------------------------

Amen - Anime is a hobby I enjoy to get away from the "real" world. Same with Sci-Fi, manga, Gunpla, and all those other strange little things I enjoy with myself and friends. (and, coincidentally, drive my wife nuts on occasion)

I remember an exchange from the old Gundam Project message board many moons ago when the same sort of Gundam discussion morphed into a political one. Mark Simmons ended the thread and commented that the disagreement had gone more than a little off topic.

I enjoyed the aside from Dr. Core about the Hermes and other topics like it and the thread about how the latest SD/Mushai (sp?) Gundam is grounded in Chinese mythology, even if I really didn't have anything to contribute to them. But when things start going from Gundam to Iraq, etc... I start tuning them out because I could see the same discussions on CNN or FOX news at all hours of the day. (The one about the 6/4 obituary was sadly funny, however)

Let's give this poor horse a Viking funeral and argue about important things here - Like, for instance, could Stargazer be better if it wasn't released just as a compilation DVD of the ONA or if it was turned into a full blown movie with new animation included?

Just my $0.02 - or whatever small denomination of your favorite currency is.
