Something that I belatedly remembered after I posted...

Even if the video is a completely new creation by CB, a news organization like JNN should still want to know why CB chose the person that they did as their public face.  You don't pick a spokesperson without good reason, and if JNN can understand why a 200 year old dead guy is being used by CB, then they'll better be able to understand CB's motivations - even if the 200 year old dead guy didn't have any ties to CB's founders.

People at JNN might wonder about the video, but since it's the only public message that CB has released, it's all that they've got to work with.  To that end, I would expect them to research anything and everything within the video to see if it sheds any insight on what CB is up to.

It's only been the one video so far, afaik, endlessly repeated over and over again by the news networks.  The problem with causing people to conventionally think about the idea the video might be 200 years old is the fact that that would mean that CB's actions were plotted waaaaay back when the video was made.  I actually suggested that in my first episode 3 post, but I suspect that it's not a position that people would quickly come to.  Presumeably CB had the technology to clean up the video and improve the quality to 2307 standards if it really is a 200 year old video.

*snip*

It's very strange that no one at, say JNN,
question the credibility of these videos.
