The thing that drives me nuts (at least about the primary overarching plot -
there are plenty of other things to get driven nuts about in the series, as
well) is that, so far as I can tell, there isn't any real reason why at least
the viewer shouldn't know what CB's primary goal is. Or at least know a little
more about CB's primary goal. There are, so far as I can recall, only two
items so far that hint at an ulterior goal. The second, of course, is the
Professor's comment in episode 17 (idle curiosity - I wonder how Sumeragi will
react when she hears about it?). The first is the conversation between
Sumeragi and... the Chinese girl(? - I think it was her) in which it's
discussed that the casualty figures for the plan that they're all involved in
are going to be very, very ugly if things go according to the way that Veda
predicts.

And the latter doesn't necessarily mean that CB isn't out to eradicate warfare
as claimed.

And what does the fact that the Solar Furnaces were built out near Jupiter have
to do with the fact that CB's goal isn't to eradicate warfare? A little
transparency would be nice. There have been too many pieces of plot fabric
being thrown out to the viewers, but very little in the way of plot thread to
tie them all together. And that's a bad thing when you're nearly 40% of the
way through your series.

As for Kinue... gotta do something to justify putting Setsuna as Saji's next
door neighbor... The Saji and Louise Show isn't THAT exciting.

(Can't imagine why I'm mildly hopeful about the idea that Louise's mother won't
let Louise return to Japan after the cousin's wedding... /innocent whistle)

Random speculation - is the length of the series partly to blame? Perhaps
giving the writer only 26 episodes would have worked better plot-wise by
forcing him to actually reveal pertinent information at a decent rate, instead
of about once every nine episodes?

For some reason I'm trying to remember when the "Return to Tokyo" arc takes
place in Rah'Xephon, and the viewer finally gets confirmed something that's
been hinted at quite frequently - i.e. that you-know-who is still stuck on
you-know-who-else.

As it is, it's yet more evidence that Mizushima doesn't know any rhythm.

*snip*

In another word, clumsily written and directed.

Yes.. Did I forget to bring that up? You now have a segueway to
bring Kinue, Saji and Louise into the thick of things.
