Welcome aboard!

I watched Dai Guard just before G00 started, what a waste of time.
With Dai Guard being a dud and G00 being a mix bag of disappointment
and maybe-it-will-get-much-better hope, I am leaning toward Mizushima
being a technically capable director. If the story handed to him is
very good and specific (i.e based on a good manga like FMA), he can do
a good job. Otherwise the result is decent in looks and sound but
he's not capable of elevating the quality of an average script.

There's no comparing G00 and DG. DG was just horribly unremarkable.
With G00, at least so far I have not regretted time wasted on watching
it. And I am still holding some hope that it will continue to justify
my time.

But... last night I put on Godannar, and both my wife and I found it
hard to stop watching it. Of the many anime aimed at servicing fans,
this one was better made than most.
