i agree and it depends on what you want and what your are making. a small,
light, short distance, not too fast [<50mph] bike would do well with an etek.
something bigger, faster, longer range one etek won't do it. also don't use a
450 amp controller with an etek; you blow the motor for sure.
also i like to use this message to advertise some gear for a EM. i'm taking
apart my first bike as i'm getting closer to finish my second bike so i have
the following items for sale. these will be half the price i paid for as new:
alltrax 7230, allbrite 180 contactor, 5000 amp 'panic-button' shut off
switch, 300 amp fuse, potbox and more.

all. They seem nice until they melt down. I would contact Jim Husted and get
a nice ADC 6.7 inch motor that can handle the job. Some have gotten by with
Eteks, but many have also burned them up. I bought my Alltrax from

Subject: [ElectricMotorcycles] Advice on places to order Etek motor from
Hi everyone,
I am ready to start buying the parts for my motorcycle but I was wondering
where the cheapest place to buy and Etek motor and Alltrax AXE7245 controller
are? does anyone have any favorite sites that they trust for such parts? And
what is the ballpark price I should be able to get an Etek for so that I know I
am not over spending.
Thanks for the help,
Eric
