Jim rebuilds forklift motors for a living, and for fun he customizes motors for
people to put in their electric vehicles. When you tell him what it is you
want to do, he will help you put together the right motor for your project and
do it for a good price.

fromThanks everyone for the insight, I guess I should have told you a little
more about my project. I am trying to build a light weight electric dirt bike
or dual sport on about a 250cc frame around 250 lbs. I want an off road capable
electric dirt bike. My budget is $3,000. My choices for motors were Etek, Prem
132, and ADC. Eteks were good for the budget and had nice HP output. My
thoughts were to run a 72volt system and I had read somewhere that the Eteks
were able to handle 72volts, but now I am hearing differently from you all. I
plan on doing some tricky stuff with the controller so that I can select
performance modes, like 1) go super fast for a short period of time 2) go
slower for maximum range. And I realize my biggest hurdle is fitting all the
batteries on that small frame. I figured the Eteks were the right size for the
job. But now you have warmed me up to the idea of the ADC 6.7. How long is the
ADC 6.7, is it over kill for such a small frame? how much does the ADC 6.7
motor typically cost, and does everyone go through Jim Husted? How do I contact
him? Any advice would be welcome, Thanks for you time,EricOn 9/22/07, Shawn
