How much did the Perm 132 cost you? I'm under the impression that they are
quite spendy. My bike frame is also a 250 (1975 Suzuki GX250) and my motor
weighs about 50 lbs. So on the one hand it is about twice as heavy as a Perm
132, but on the other hand it is only an extra 28 lbs and has easily stood up
to all the abuse I have thrown at it. I think either the Etek or Perm 132 are
great as long as you don't push them past their design limits. Most
motorcycles will push an Etek right up to those limits if not past them which
is why I suggest not using them. Not as many people have went the Perm 132
route, but it seems like I remember at least one melting down in similar fasion
to an Etek, although I could be wrong.
