Too much required starting torque for a single belt.

A dual belt drive is the only mechanical solution.

As an alternate, increase the engine idle RPMs to about 1,500, the
alternator should now be about 3,000 RPM, then add a 2 pole relay
controlled by the oil pressure sending unit and use a relay contact in
the field circuit of the alternator.

This will reduce the starting torque problem since it delays
alternator output.
