Would you recommend stoping there on the great loop?

Sterling,

We spent at least a week in Baltimore and thoroughly enjoyed it.

You will meet a number of cruisers there.

We used public transportation as well.

Baltimore is like most of the big cities such as Memphis( stopped there on
the boat as well) , and N O, but not as bad as Detroit and we did spend some
time in Detroit. The cruise guides on that are correct, do not use pub
transit

And be wary of cabs, we rented a car and were pleased with the visit. Their
art museum, down town , is not to be missed. A day for it is not sufficient.

The East coast of Michigan is good cruising, as well.

As always YMMV.
