Rosalie.. we have different experiences due to living in vastly different areas of the city and county Towson is not Baltimore City it is quite a ways out of the city proper, though one would not know that.. People like you would never live in the neighborhood I lived in ...so yes, we have a different view of the city and vastly different experiences..
Washington is a lovely city.. despite your comments..I have noticed many Baltimoreans have a dim view of DC...and vice versa. I would reccomend The District to anyone.. there is lots and lots to see.. I hope everone, at some time in thier life, take the time to wander around the Vast museums of the Smithsonian.. it is proof that someone is spending our tax dollars wisley... I also reccomend the FDR memorial at night.. as well as many of the memorials at that end of the The Mall.. the play of light and dark is simply delightful.
