As for the placards, there are two for everyone; one saying it is illegal to
dump oil, another saying it is illegal to dump plastic (and other things at
different distances offshore) and, only for boats 40 feet or longer, one saying
who is responsible to dealing with garbage.
I have seen the first two for sale, but the third one I have never seen so I
made one myself.
We have heard the same thing about the Coasties now mostly involved in Homeland
Security.
The three CG men who boarded us last month all seemed to be under 25.
Non-CG cops can be a pain. One in St Augustine tried to tell us we needed a
fire extinguisher in the dingy. When I said I didn't have one because I didn't
need one he wrote me up but failed to show in court.
