The fine point with fire extinguishers on dingys, at least how it was conveyed to me by a FL Maine patrol, is that if it has one of these bow seat lockers then an extinguisher is required but something like a RIB 8.5 does not. This was after he told me that 1. I was illegally tied to a public dock and 2. If he came aboard and did not find the holding tank valve locked (it wasn't) he could fine me $500. It was my lucky day as he was a month from retirement and liked Maine. We had a nice long chat and both of us left with good vibes. Bob PDQ 36 Peace

I have seen the first two for sale, but the third one I have never seen so I made one myself. We have heard the same thing about the Coasties now mostly involved in Homeland Security. The three CG men who boarded us last month all seemed to be under 25. Non-CG cops can be a pain. One in St Augustine tried to tell us we needed a fire extinguisher in the dingy. When I said I didn't have one because I didn't need one he wrote me up but failed to show in court. Norm S/V Bandersnatch Lying Gloucester MA
