John, We may have to spend some time in non-Schengen land. I think we could spend some time in North Africa or elsewhere that is not Schengen during the summer to make it so we will not infringe the rules.
We have friends in Canaries right now who advise they did not run into problems with enforcement during time in France, Portugal, Spain, and now Canaries. They have gone well over the limits. It is a stupid dilema to have. I will have to check out whether Malta and Gibralter are havens or not? I also was told of one friend who had more than the 90 days allowed and was stopped in Greece and told, "You have a Schengen Problem." They ultimately were let go after waiting for 15 minutes and then were told, "You are crew on a boat!" Thanks for this and any future advice.
