Hello and welcome to today’s Levy Letter. I hope you’re having a good week, and
I hope you’ve been keeping up with Look North despite some of the changes in
time we’ve had lately, it’s all due to the football of course. Well don’t
worry, we’ve gotten back to normal and I hope you can join me for tonight’s
Look North at the usual time of half past six on BBC One.

On tonight’s programme we’ll have all the day’s news and stories as always. And
as usual we’ll have the full detailed weather forecast. Let’s hope the
temperature continues to stay nice and warm, and hopefully we’ll get some clear
and dry skies to enjoy as well.

Rooney

Now I don’t know if you’re a football fan, or if you know much about Wayne
Rooney, but it seems you can’t escape him at the moment. His celebrity wedding
has been all over the news, and a very luxurious event it was too from the
sound of it, especially for a couple of 22 year olds!
They tied the knot in a 17th century Italian palace, with an army of bodyguards
patrolling the area, and the reception is expected to finish in a giant
fireworks display at a nearby abbey. The wedding costs might have been helped
by the rumoured £2.5 million coverage deal with a celebrity magazine. Despite
that, the wealthy couple might still be out of pocket as the total cost of the
wedding is reported to be around £5 million! That’s extraordinary.
It must have been a dream come true for ones so young, but then that’s the
lifestyle a career in football can buy you these days. I don’t think I could
begin to plan an event to blow £5 million in one day!

Pig

This is a quite extraordinary story that you might have seen in the news, and
it bears repeating here because it’s one of those things that seems too bizarre
to be true. A six year old pig from Yorkshire has been given her own Wellington
boots after she seemed to display a phobia of mud! The owner’s 12 year old
daughter suggested trying a pair of tiny rubber boots that were on a key ring,
and apparently Cinders, as the pig is known, has been much happier.
Cinders won’t now face slaughter as she’s been picked as the farm’s mascot.
That’s lucky as she lives on a sausage farm, so some good has come from her
phobia.
It’s a very strange story, and there are pictures of the pig in her wellies as
well, in case we wouldn’t believe it, which to be honest would be an
understandable reaction…

Apprentice

Don’t worry, I’m not going to give away the winner if you haven’t had time to
watch it and you’re planning to catch up on your recorder or on the BBC
iPlayer. To be honest, you’ll have a job avoiding the result all day, but all
I’ll say is well done to the winning apprentice. They’ve all worked really hard
from the looks of things, and all the finalists have done well to get through
one of the hardest interview procedures you can imagine.
The winner seems to be a popular choice among many people, and of course now
that the series is over we can all get back to our normal lives. I think there
will be a lot of Apprentice devotees wondering what they’re going to do with
their spare time now, until next time.

Well that’s it from me for today. I hope you enjoy the rest of your afternoon,
and I hope you’ll join me tonight at half past six on BBC One. If you have
anything you think we should know about then you know what to do, send it along
to me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] If you’ve got any unusual pictures for us to show on
the programme, or anything to say about the programme then send it along to me
as well and I’ll get that direct.

Have a very good day, bye for now

Peter
