adaptive testing and pyschometrics aren't mutually exclusive.  I believe.
I'd have to ask the LPI pschyometrician about it again.

The other thing the LPI is interested in is hands-on testing.  Including GUI
apps.  Does prosoft do anything like that?

LPI exams are already available through Vue and Prometric exam centres.
