And there are many yum* tools as well, some standard, some optional. 
Yum also has many undocumented features.

Most people know that with DPKG-based distros.
Unfortunately, too many people don't with RPM-based distros.  Sigh.

Nothing makes me want to scream more than someone running RPM.
"yum localinstall" -- no reason not to use it.
