I wouldn't put this to sleep quite yet. Be patient, sometimes the mail is slow. We currently have Solaris, OSX, Windows 2000(direct through lpr) and Mac OS including OSX all printing through lprng. here is a sample printcap I use:(Not claiming it to be 100 percent by the book but it works for me) lp34|color printer in lab ----- name of the printer :lp=132.239.27.126%9100:\ ------ ip and port :sd=/var/spool/lpd/%P:\ -----directory holding files :ifhp=model=phaser740, appsocket dev=132.239.27.126%9100:\ --ifhp info (appsocket for phaser, not required on those not running on appsockets) :as=|/var/local/etc/accounting.pl start:\ --accounting file parser :ae=|/var/local/etc/accounting.pl end:\ --accounting file parser :if=/var/local/libexec/filters/ifhp:\ --filter :af=/var/spool/lpd/lp34/acct: --acct file itself
