'top' and the usual diagnostic tools haven't indicated any CPU or RAM problems on the server. We have a Dell PowerEdge 1950 server with 2 quad-core Xeon processors and 32GB of RAM. At this point Ubuntu 8.04.1 64-bit is running on the bare metal, but we're heading towards virtualizing it using Xen and running other things on the server as well. The thing that has stood out the most when Flash video (or a video intensive flash website navigation system) is in use is the network traffic so I've assumed the problem is related to that. But with a 1Gb backbone to the server you wouldn't think that a saturated 100Mb link would kill the performance for everyone else. I'm confused. :) Jason ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _____________________________________________________________________ Ltsp-discuss mailing list.
