So if:
Yradio is a historic effort to make all of the knowledge and information
within Uganda's (And the World's) radio stations searchable and
listenable at a future date.
Being the same reason google defends it self for scanning peoples books
without there consent or permission and re-distributing the materials ...
Then Yradio is right to do what it does ...
Guys, the whole reason we have plenty of information on the internet
FREELY accessed
which ofcourse we all here benefit from ...is because at one point some
government
interested in the growth and ease of information accessibility compromised
the so called "CopyRight Infringement"
Tim, for a moment let's drop the legal, does and don'ts of what YRadio is
doing...
Think about the good in the service ..
1. Being able to retrieve a program aired on May 10th 2006,
2. say there is this program you like on radio X but now that you are out
of the country,
and at the time of the program you were in a meeting ...you missed it via
live streaming ...well not to late..
you have a second chance to get to listen to your program...bingo :)
3. I run adverts on radios, and I wonder really if some times they play
them ..
can't have a radio 24x7 on my hears just to know they run my adverts ...
how about at my convinience at home in my bed ..being able to determine if
it did run or not ..thanks to Yradio ...
4. How about for reasearch purposes ...historians, journalists, students,
teachings....you guys are looking at only MUSIC. i am 100% sure less than
2% would be interested in the music recorded...but 98% interested in real
important educational, historical and research materials ..
