Reinier, on the surface the Drupal modules, might seem like they are more, but in reality that is not the case. if you want to implement something simple in drupal, you will need about 4 - 6 modules, while the joomla modules/components are usually complete. Am sure you know this.
the point am trying to make, is that some of these technology products become popular naturally, through organic methods, rather than through a PR machine. Your efforts to market Drupal are well intentioned, but am not sure what the real effect will be. I dont want to talk about the limitations of Joomla, Drupal or Wordpress (and they all have), because, you can look at something as a limitation, when the truth is different. These Content Management Systems were not designed to solve the world problems. They can not imagine the needs of the planet. The fact that they are open source, should tell you that if you want to implement something, then you have to get your hands dirty. This is true for Joomla and Drupal.
