Which linux distribution do you use? Did you install LyX using your package manager or did you install directly (e.g., by compiling) yourself? This is a nasty bug since it is about memory consumption. At least on my system, it keeps eating up memory until I kill LyX. Thanks for sharing. We look forward to your future bug reports. Especially since it seems you're working with long documents that involve math, your testing is important.
