RC3 means it was almost the final version. I would be confident that the code to produce the program you're running does come from the official LyX team (with perhaps minor modifications perhaps by Debian and/or Ubuntu). It's just that it was a *pre*-release meant for testing. In my opinion, the unfortunate part is that the package was never updated to 2.4.1, 2.4.2, etc. > Again I am sorry to have wasted your time, and I will be more careful in > the future.
