Well, I was thinking more along the lines of totally free. I know it sounds
a bit odd, but I read about various American ISP's offering this free
service at one time or another, and perhaps it was free for a reason e.g.
only free because it was an incredibly slow connection.

I was wondering if there was any such opportunity in the UK?

Do you pay local rate just for the time you are on-line? or is there also a
monthly charge. Back when I was trying to ditch BTInternet, I came across
Demon, or MacISP or something like that, and it was 11.99 per month plus a
charge for every minute on-line.
