Harry, In the winter months I end up rescanning my fingerprint frequently. Seems when your hands get dried out, shriveled up or chapped from the cold it alters your fingerprint. Mine works fine in the warmer months. This has been documented on the web in a few places, here's one below. They suggest creating a "cold" fingerprint.
