I actually tried that first . . .but the clone exhibited the same symptoms so I 
didn't bother cloning back. I have a partition on the drive that's a clone of 
the SL installer DVD anyway . . .which makes installs go way faster than using 
the DVD . . .especially since I went in to cook coq a vin while it was 
installing anyway.
