Yeah, lots of great software, including PageSender, do all that and work 
well with Apple's USB modem. Just make sure you stick with 10.6 though!

It's part of OS X - I don't think it can be moved from one version to 
another, but it is worth searching. I loved FrontRow and there were hacks 
to make it work in 10.7 and those hacks were perfect, but now with 10.8, 
FrontRow can't be ported over. So the same thing may have happened with 
the USB modem. It's a shame, as the modem is small and built well. Heck, 
my G4 PowerBook has a modem built in and that's come in handy many times 
when I've needed dial-up access or to FAX something on the road [i usually 
know this ahead of time, as my PowerBook isn't something I normally travel 
with since it's not got a lot of the software I'm now using, on it :) ].
