The old drivers are 32 bit. Apple has excised all 32 bit stuff from the OS. 
They would have to write completely new drivers. This is unlikely; Apple 
appears to think that they no longer need to support anyone who still needs 
dial-up or faxing.

Yes. I mentioned Zoom and US Robotics. They have produced 64 bit drivers.
