Good news!
I solved the issue with the hanging apps. This happens when they cannot
locate the localhost, which in turn is caused by bad configured /etc/hosts
or by not initializing /etc/net.lo at boot. Looks that while messing with
the system I removed net.lo from boot level. Just added it back and the
problem is gone.
