Hello all,
i'm having an odd issue that i have been trying to resolve
for the last couple of days:
i'm using Fedora Core 5 2.6.17-1.2174 along with a D-Link
DWL-G520 and uses AR5212. i've loaded the card and it functions
fine in "client" mode.
i have been trying to configure the atheros card to be an access point
and build a bridge between my ethernet connection, which also
runs fine, and the atheros card.
i've read most of the how-to's on this site to no avail, so here's what
i'm doing from the command line minus the comments:
{{{
//create AP
wlanconfig ath0 destroy
wlanconfig ath0 create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode ap
iwconfig ath0 mode Master
//build bridge
ifconfig eth0 0.0.0.0 up
ifconfig ath0 0.0.0.0 up
brctl addbr br0
brctl addif br0 eth0
brctl addif br0 ath0
//launch hostapd
hostapd -dd /root/Desktop/hostapd/madwifi.conf
}}}
and here is what i get:
{{{
hostapd -dd /root/Desktop/hostapd/madwifi.conf
Configuration file: /root/Desktop/hostapd/madwifi.conf

When scanning for access points from a different machine the AP shows up
but then
crashes before long whether i attempt to connect or not. any ideas or
suggestions? anything would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Victor
