Comment:
I'm currently working with a combination of MadWifi 0.9.2, hostapd 0.4.9
and an Atheros AR5006XS on a Debian 3.1 with standard kernel (2.6.8-2-386)
without problems. My wife's PC (Windows XP SP1, Atheros MiniPCI card,
driver version 4.1.2.104) can connect to the debian box which is running
as AP. I tested that with WPA-PSK and without encryption, with the AP VAP
being bridged and with a routing setup. In none of these cases I did
experience a kernel oops or other problems so far.
Could you please give some more details about the client you use? What OS,
what type of WLAN card, which driver version, things like that?
Can you please try to reproduce the crashes and get a dump of the kernel
oops that should be occuring at that time? [wiki:DevDocs/AthDebug]
explains how you can achieve that. Once you have such a dump, please
attach it as file to this ticket or paste it into a comment (but please
enclose the paste with three opening and three closing curly brackets, see
[wiki:WikiFormatting]).
