Comment (by anonymous):
I just encountered the exact problem described on 09/14/06 00:04:39 by
medina0081.
Scenario: PC with MadWifi, one AP VAP (ath0), one ethernet card (eth0).
Both are enslaved to a bridge, hostapd is running on ath0. A WinXP client
(with Atheros-based PCI card, driver version 4.1.2.104) sees the AP, is
able to associate, notifies me about the new connection, but then starts
to scan again. hostapd output is the same as in the mentioned comment,
including the ioctl[unknown???] issue. Obviously the authentication fails,
so the association is cancled.
I narrowed it down a bit. As soon as ath0 is no longer member of the
bridge, the WinXP client is able to associate and authenticate
immediately.
