It is always good to apologise if you think your words hurt other than
defending yourself. +1

It is i18n for internationalisation and l10n for localisation.

May be non standard, but if that is all the option available, we can't
ask people to abandon it without a credible replacement. In web, we
can clearly demand for Unicode because every web browser out there has
support for Unicode. But for DTP we don't have even a single app with
Unicode support.

> I know. But would you encourage it "just to get work done"?

I have no option till I can give them something that works. GNU was
initially developed using Unix, not because Unix was Free, but you
needed something to even develop a Free Operating system.

nopes, I was talking about converting data, not fonts. Unless we fix
scribus, I don't see any other way out.

What use is a standard if you cannot use it? INSFOC is indeed a short
term temporary project, but we need to fix scribus.

Any method using to input characters is an input method, even entering
raw code directly is an input method.

But if you still want to use values like 0163 try ibus-rawcode
https://fedorahosted.org/ibus-rawcode/ But I'm not sure if it will
work or not.

You have to keep reminding your government that you don't get your
rights from them; you give them permission to rule, only so long as
they follow the rules: laws and constitution.
