A misunderstanding and no straw man. I inferred from the word "abuse" that you
meant rape, beheadings, etc. I think we've established that Hamas has a stated
policy of treating civilians as legitimate military targets (as Israel and the
US do while vociferously denying it, viz. the goals of the US bombing of the
Basra water supply in 1991 are well documented by credible sources). A
"legitimate military target," however, is somebody the military kills, which is
arguably a form of abuse. If that's what you meant by "abuse," then Hamas no
doubt ordered it. The rapes and beheadings should be treated as war
propaganda. Either way, IMHO, it should change nothing as far as we are
concerned.
