No disagreement that Hamas was a terrorist faction as far back as the Goldstein massacre and continuing through the Second Intifada until it assumed responsibility for Gaza and the Palestinan resistance generally in 2007. Nor do I question that Israeli civilians were killed on October 7th, although its still unclear how many were caught in a crossfire between Palestinian and IDF forces or raped or otherwise abused by undisciplined Palestinian fighters and others who followed them through the breached fence. But no evidence has appeared that such abuses were ordered by the Hamas leadership. Also, testimony of those Israeli hostages who were released and interviewed indicated they were well treated by their captors under the circumstances, and that the hostage-taking was in itself a tactic to free the many more teenage and other Palestinians held captive in Israeli "detention centres". -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
