Do you know of any similar endeavours for other projects? Seems like a not uncommon issue. And just to challenge the idea of separation; why a separate mailing list, but not a separate wiki? Or the opposite, why a single wiki, but separate mailing lists? I don't mean to suggest native language support isn't valuable, just want to solicit the best way of going about it.
