Terry, were the original 200B/240K rear wheel cylinders bigger than stock
1600 ones?
I am thinking that the bigger master cylinder is trying to 'move' too much
fluid into a too small area, thus making the pedal feel strange. is my
physics/understanding correct here?

On my car the brake pedal sticks way way up higher than the clutch and
accelerator making it quite hard to do heel-toe braking. It will be even
worse when I put new discs/pads on. Currently the brakes do not actually
activate until about half way down the pedal travel, I imagine with new
discs it will be nearer the 'top'.
