FJ MAN,

Upgrading to the larger brake master cylinder on a 510 I think
this could be where everyone that has "crappy brake pedal" is
going wrong. If we want a good feel and the correct travel in the
pedal which go hand in hand there absolutely no good reason to put
a larger master cylinder on a 510 than is required to be
effective. When you go to dual circuit & 200B/240K or whatever
upgrade for the FJ, i recommend you still use the 610 SSS Nabco or
Tokico 3/4" m/cyl & small bendix booster etc. and then connect the
remote fittings off the Urvan and ditch the 2 removable reservoirs
off the 180B m/cyl (it's very easy to do) - i.e. you don't use the
Urvan cylinders. BTW Same deal for the clutch so you need a clutch
m/cyl which has the removable reservoir. (Nabco, Tokico or Sankyo)

As you are using a L18 my comment about the stock single circuit
brakes still stands, under the national guidelines if you did an
L18 upgrade today, most rego places would require a dual cylinder
fitted. That has been the case in the ACT for a very long time,
but funnily enough the owner who did the right thing and notified
of the engine upgrade was the only one subject to that
requirement. The law is an ass someone said - too true.

regards,
