I have been told that CA18's tend to have a shorter life span?!? I dunno how
true this is. But your cheapest bang for buck option
FJs are getting a bit old now. Next best value for money.
SR20 is supposed to be the bees nees, bullet proof and VERY fast.
I have driven a silvia automatic powered by a CA18 turbo and it had enough
get up and go to make me leave skiddies on the seat. VERY very nice.
I am now in the process of going all out spak and putting a SR20 turbo in my
car since I cooked the L20 donk that was originally there. I have very high
expectations and I'm as keen as..
Anyway, my 2 bobs worth - go stupid, you live once.... I aint gunna be
sitting round wondering all my life what a SR20 is going to be like. I wanna
drive it to and from work every day... :)

I'm just looking into different engine options, and something I'm trying to
get some opinions on is whats a better option between the CA18det and a
FJ20det, I know more about the FJ, but not so much of the CA, I have been
told their crappy plasticy and all, but others tell me they have a lot of
potential and are almost as good as an SR, plus their closely matched on the
kw scale I've read. So anyone got any info and/or personal opinions of the
two, I myself lean towards the FJ at the moment. Thanks to those who will
