No you don't, how much is your life worth?

In any case you will probably find that the intensity goes up a bit if a
turbo or a massive increase of power is involved. A typical turbo transplant
involves power increase of around 3 times what the vehicle was designed to
cope with, that's 225hp in a 510 in today's ratings. Registered engineers
are still accountable to the licensing authorities and I'm sure there is a
watch dog in all states so I would think most of them and even the ones that
interpret the law a little more loosely than others are still doing their
job to a reasonable degree. I have also found that if a fitting kit say from
SSS is used in NSW/ACT then there it is not given the same going over as say
a home made one.

If your engineer doesn't require a brake upgrade in these circumstances then
I would be thinking that this guy hasn't got my best interests at heart and
say you are involved in an accident and end up in a wheel chair or badly
injure someone else, you wouldn't be pleased with beating the system then.

Anyway, you would never be happy with the car if you thought it was dodgy,
we all strive for some degree of perfection and enjoyment from our vehicles
especially if we have spent lot of $ on them.
