errol, james, paddy, andrew and all,
i just wanted to update on what ive found out.
the pistons are flattop, dont know what height but when at tdc the piston is
level(almost, just a smidgeon maybe 1/2 mm) below the deck height. i dont know
if the blocks been decked but i do know that with a FIA head on it in a rally
car the comp was about 12:1, i think, thats what i was told but it could be
bullshit. i know it could run PULP if the timing was retarded but normally the
car ran straight avgas. so i dont know what the current comp ratio is. hope
this is enough info.
as for the turbo, it is a series 325, which is an aircraft turbo, i cant find
any compressor maps for it and believe me ive searched everywhere. aparently,
it was designed for a chieftan plane initially, which incidentally is 360 cubes
but only revs to about 2000 rpm with about 10psi boost, but this is at altitude,
so the air is thinner, i figure because of this that its gotta be pretty efficient.
The turbo came off a twin turbo 350 chev that was 700 or so horses at 8 psi
boost. i hope its not going to be too big.
so please advise coz i got lost in all that rod and piston talk, i hope this
provides a little more insight.
thanks again all
andrew
