Mick,

I put them on because I wanted something that would bite, but the metal
Kings have a reputation for eating disks. (although the Metal King 2's are
supposed to be OK - so they say...)

I spoke to a mate who races club cars and he told me an interesting story.
He ran out of (front) pads one day at the track and so was scrounging around
the pits for anything he could lay his hands on. Someone had some Ultimates
and so he whacked them in just so he could compete. He reckons they were
damn near as good as his proper race pads. Good enough for me.

My only bitch about them is that they are very dirty. Although a lot of the
modern (asbestos free) pads seem to be like that...

Mick,
We use Ultimates as they don't tear the rotors apart but still have all the
nice qualities of a pad that performs well in most temperatures and don't
fade
until the rotors are glowing - they wear reasonably well too, although i
noticed they other day that my pads on both sides have about 20% more wear
on
the piston side so I'll have to watch that as the original pads that came
with
the callipers were worn evenly.
