g`day all,
just an update on me mazda turbo powered L series, i finally got round to
fitting it, i hadnt intended to but i fitted it to me L16motor with a U67
head, ~2cc 85mm pistons, L18 crank, and a B cam(cam was in the head
already), its got a 2.5" exhaust and using a single 1.75" SU carb, ive only
just got it finished this weekend and its goin better than i expected it to,
nothin overly flash but it goes ok, its starting to boost at 3500rpm, at
4000rpm its at 5psi and hits full boost,7psi, about 5000rpm, theres no
audible pinging with the timing set at a static 8 degrees advance and it
revs good upto about 6500, mite go higher but i havent pushed it too much
yet.
just thought id let you guys know how it went, i honestly thought it
wouldnt even get to the 7psi mark coz of the turbine housing being quite
big, but it does, and i rekon it may even make more if i alter the wastegate
a bit. :)
anyway heres a pic of the motor
