Yea pity about that 2 vpc design, low rpm off boost torque is better though!
It makes the turbo lag less painful but still, I'd want to have some boost
by 2500 (as much as I like cammed up L's I don't like turbo lag a whole lot)
so I may have reconsider the plain bearing T3 and look for a ballbearing
version or settle for a smaller turbo. The VG30ET turbos are cheap, so I
think it may be a case of put the text books away and have a shot at it ;)
Is the turbo that you got with the motor in good nick? I would even say run
that for a while, some Z18 guys run up to 16psi with the stock turbo (with
aftermarket management, intercooling and avgas) which should produce around
115-120kw at the wheels - enough for high 13's/low 14's -which would give
the 300kw GTS a run for its money at 13.7 .............. hmmm maybe you
should spend your RB25DET turbo money strengthening the driveline if you
havent already :)
Paddy pointed out to me that the Fury cam is obviously a full race spec cam
so driveability compromises may not be worth it, since the only advantage of
having an 8 valve turbo over 16v is that low rpm off boost torque so it
wouldn't do to lose it, depends how much you want up top i spose
We'll see!

PS Errol, how are you going with your Z20ET?

I agree with your reasoning behind the different cylinder heads flowing
differently for sure! I was just going on both motors sharing the same
capacity. Let us know how you get on with cams! I was wanting one to bump
peak power output up to about the 7000 mark or just above, but I still have
to do some reasearch in to what this is going to do to my fuel economy! My
aim is to have something that sucks about as much juice as a V6 commywhore
yet more than enough power to blow one (the 220kw version) off at the lights
quiet convincingly.
