You also need a Z20 timing cover for the L20 block.

Hahaha... Why wouldn't you stick the top off a z18 and stick it on a L20
block. Buy a z18 complete for around $1000, reco'd short L20 block for
about
$600, allow about $400 for gaskets and tubes and all the pumps and goodies
that you'd need..
$2,000 easy.. :) and you have a spare z18 block to re-sell..
