Is the std bore of the SR cylinder steel or alloy? I know the block is alloy but I wouldn't think the rings would chew out the alloy pretty quick.

Yes it is a dud story. FJ24 was the original beast, specifically built
for rallying.

Interesting that it was mentioned JUN use sleeves in the SR to get big
HP. You are nuts if you try and get 400+ out of any aluminium block
without bore and sleeve work. The beauty of sleeves is you can reduce
bore flex at 8000+RPM by going thicker (at the expense of reducing
cooling efficiency of course)
