It may be even easier than you think to get this 4 litre engine really
pumping out the turbo HP.  Basically the power is in the heads and the Lexus
V8 top end is essentially two Toyota 2 litre four valve heads (Yamaha?).  I
suspect "bolt on" turbo pistons and rods would be easily sourced from the
TRD parts bin.

It is also all alloy (very light), and minus accessories, it's small enough
to fit in a 700mm cube - that is tiny by V8 standards.

As you say, Anthony, the bottom end is bullet proof as it was built to last.
It has a good lubrication system and it also spins to nine reliably, so the
boat racers love them.  Your not the only one looking at this donk.  I know
of one going in a hill climb special at the moment, the owner only wants 350
HP with low down torque.  Nissan also builds a smaller all alloy V8 with
twin turbos used for its LeMans cars - but not as cheap as a second hand
Lexus V8 I suspect.
