Wayne,
A mate does quite a few conversions using these motors mainly going into hilux's.One particular conversion involved fitting a hotty v6 commodore motor that came from an unfinished project that had port work, larger valves, stronger springs, mild cam, higher compression,v8 throttle body, bigger injectors( magna ones are apparently the same as group a injectors) and what was supposed to be a rechiped ecu.The engine was bolted into a hilux but refused to run properly and the only way it would run at all was with a clamp on the fuel return line. After checking everything twice we eventually pulled the ecu out an found it had a v8 memcal in it.After swaping it for a suitable v6 memcal it fired up and ran perfect and would smoke all 4 wheels in first and second. The customer reckoned it was the best $4000 he'd spent.I'm not sure on hp figures but when compared to my old 308 powered hilux the v6 went heaps better. As far as comparing the delco with aftermarket units i would say that if the delco is tuned in real time like the aftermarket ecu then they would be about the same. Some chip burners have done enough of these to know what to do with whatever mods but there is also some rough ones out there.I would only buy a chip from someone who can show some dyno graphs of a setup very similar to the mods your doing.

Listers,    Has anyone experienced a modified v6 commodore engine, as in do they go? and how hard?. Im not talking about extractors+chip+filter, but hi compression (say 10:1)ish, cam , headwork , bigger injectors? etc. Now i know a guy who burns chips to suit factory holden computers to suit the partuicular cars modifications, how does this compare to say a wolf 3d?     Any ideas?        -Wayne
