There is a lot of knowledge around about reprogramming GM-Delco chips. There is freeware/shareware and commercial software around that enables you to recalibrate the settings. Look at: http://www.kalmaker.com.au/page8.html http://www.diy-efi.org/gmecm/ for more information
I have been interested modifying a Camira EFI setup to suit an L-Series engine, with or without forced induction. Don't have the time though, and I lurve the sound of twin carbs and L-series grunting away.... It actually works out more expensive to do it this way than using an aftermarket computer. But the factory computers are much better and parts are easy to get and replace. Im not talking about extractors+chip+filter, but hi compression (say >10:1)ish, cam , headwork , bigger injectors? etc. Now i know a guy who burns chips to >suit factory holden computers to suit the partuicular cars modifications, how does >this compare to say a wolf 3d? > > Any ideas? > -Wayne > > --membersozdat------------------------------------------------------- > OZDAT Mailing List Please Note:- > Send (un)subscribe requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Send submissions to [EMAIL PROTECTED] > No unauthorised redistribution of this email > http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/index.htm > http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/listindex.html > http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ > --------------------------------------------------------------------- > > This message was sent through MyMail http://www.mymail.com.au --membersozdat------------------------------------------------------- OZDAT Mailing List Please Note:- Send (un)subscribe requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Send submissions to [EMAIL PROTECTED] No unauthorised redistribution of this email http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/index.htm http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/listindex.html http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------

hi, i can tellya now that a burnt chiip will
never be as good as a programmable (wolf, microtech etc ) efi
setup...
i was looking at actually reprogramming
the holden commodore chips.
there is a place in america called "tunercat"
that deals with this. they even had listed the australian v8 ,1988
commodore!!!!! but to re do others you need to get a dump of the file you
want to change. as far as i remember you need a eprom programmer
(100-dollars australian and up) and a cable i think that tuner cat
do. they also have the software. might be worth a look at their
site.
they zalso do heaps of other cars
also.
